Our FORS Gold accredited primary fleet services all our branches nationwide from our Distribution Centres based in Lutterworth and Coventry, our order by 5PM in branch, and collection at opening time next day is critical to our business.
Our Coventry (Cross Point) transport operation runs during the day, primarily delivering large tube to our branches during the daytime hours. Our Lutterworth (Magna Park) operation runs during the night, with drivers being responsible for lone night time branch deliveries.
The role will be office based at BSS Magna Park, Lutterworth with occasional travel to Coventry.
Suitable candidates must be able to drive and have access to their own vehicle.
The role:
20:00 - 4:00 shift on Sunday
22:00 - 6:00 shift Mon-Thurs
Reporting directly to the Transport Manager, you will support the Transport Senior Supervisor and the Operation across 2 x NDC’s, 28 x routes c.30 drivers including outbases operating 24/5, ensuring an efficient and smooth operation whilst achieving service levels within time and budgetary constraints.
You will interact with all driver activities, including performance management, shift briefs and debriefs, and also ensure that all legislation documentation is in place.
You’ll also update the fleet schedule whilst ensuring that all vehicles are serviced and maintained when required, and interacting with all our service partners to ensure all our vehicles are maintained to the highest industry standards.
In this role you will be a leader of our ‘Stay Safe’ culture by championing and driving first class safety standards across our distribution centres and branches.
This is a dual role that will see the individual bridge both transport and warehouse/stock control although you will primarily sit within the transport team you will have a dotted line to the Ops manager within the warehouse team.
What we are looking for?
Ideally a successful candidate would have worked in a traffic/ transport office previously, have good communication skills to engage with colleagues and management teams effectively.
You’ll be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and administration skills whilst having attention to detail. You will also have a pragmatic approach to problem solving and be able to prioritise your own workload in this fast paced environment.
