Looking to start your career but don't know where to look? Do you enjoy working as part of a team, do you like helping people, and don’t mind working outside, then we may have the role for you, a Warehouse Assistant.  You don't need to come from our sector or even know our products, as long as you have the ability to provide great customer service, we will support you with a great onboarding experience and encourage you onto our Benchmarx development scheme. 

You will be joining our Benchmarx branch on Waltham Park Way, Billet Road, Walthamstow, E17 5DU, we are the largest branch across our estate with 9 colleagues, 3 delivery vehicles with a footfall of around 20 Trade and Retail customers a day, most we know on a first name basis. Our Branch Manager has created a nice family feel where everyone helps one another and we are focused on delivery.
 
This may be an entry level role to Benchmarx, but we are succession planning, so if you are willing to learn every aspect of branch life, and are open to career development, we would love to hear from you.
 
Hours - Monday - Friday 7.30am-5pm and Saturdays 8am-12pm (working 2 in 4 Saturdays).  
We are open to job sharing for the right colleagues.

As a Warehouse Assistant, what will I be doing?
  • Applicants must be 18yrs or over, as you will be driving a forklift, but don't worry full training is provided
  • Our success is built on strong relationships with our customers so it’s essential that you can help deliver the highest standards of service - the key thing is to be helpful and friendly at all times, you will likely get to know our customers on a first name basis.
  • We will provide you with the right clothing
  • You will be processing our customer orders on our “Hand Held Terminal”, loading and unloading customer and company vehicles.
  • You will also unload our Kitchen and Joinery products from supplier deliveries and accurately book them in the branch warehouse.

  • Someone that is physically active, this role is located outside and will involve lifting heavy building materials and use of manual handling equipment, such as forklift (Applicants need to be 18 years old to drive the forklift)
  • Someone that has a friendly and outgoing personality who is happy to communicate face to face with customers and build strong relationships
  • Someone that is adaptable, resilient and tenacious with high levels of energy and drive.
  • Someone who thrives in a dynamic and fast paced environment
