Are you an experienced Transport Coordinator / Transport Planner, are you looking for a new opportunity, maybe a larger fleet of vehicles and customers, Yes?  then look no further we may have the role for you.  Our Taunton branch is going from strength to strength and due to growth plans they have created an opportunity for a Transport Planner to join their team.

Where will I be based? 
Reporting into the Branch Manager, the role of Transport Planner will be based in our Taunton branch on Priorswood Industrial Estate. The branch already has a fantastic, well established team of 18 who are multiskilled, including 9 trained drivers, they have 7 delivery vehicles and boast an already successful Tool Hire department.  This is a busy branch with a footfall of over 120 Trade customers a day and the Branch Manager has created a vibrant environment with a family feel, so you will be in safe hands.
 
Hours - Monday to Friday 7.30am - 5pm and Saturdays 8am - 12pm. (only working 2 in 4 Saturdays)

What will I be doing?
Operations - Efficiently route plan all our local customer deliveries utilising the branch fleet 
Keep all maintenance & service schedules up to date as well as relevant records.
Ensure all H&S responsibilities are being adhered to 
Maintain vehicle maintenance records on R2C
Schedule & book annual MOTs
Stay Safe - Set the tone and champion a Stay Safe culture across the branch at all times promoting a healthy workplace and colleague wellbeing. 
Monitor, review & investigate near misses
Customers - Developing strong relationships with branch customers, providing updates and any delivery issues to customers in a timely manner, in order to build strong customer relationships and profitable business growth.

What experience do you need?
The successful candidate will already be running/supporting a small fleet in a similar role and have experience of route planning, also an understanding of driver compliance and knowledge of driver infringements.  We are also looking for transferable skills including, great customer service, excellent communication, be able to multitask and be a great team player.
