Travis Perkins are looking for a Trainee Computer Operator to join the Applications Operations Centre team in Northampton. This role is a great opportunity for an individual looking to start their IT career. This team works 24/7 365 days a year based on a 12 hour shift pattern of 4 on 4 off providing a vital service to the TP group, monitoring business critical servers and services and running batch processing overnight.

Shift pattern: 2 shifts 06:30 to 18:30 and 2 shifts 18:30 to 06:30 per week. 

What you’ll do - Trainee IT Operator 

To run and monitor batch processing, back-up systems and print output in accordance with the daily processing schedule, operations procedures and established quality standards; 

Some accountabilities of the role:

- To monitor TP Groups servers, services and networks using the prescribed toolsets and escalate alerts with support teams as appropriate.
- With the support of the Senior Operator/Shift Leader, manage incidents, ensuring accurate logging, reporting and escalation is maintained at all times
- To Provide out of hours service desk support to the group, logging calls from colleagues in other areas of the business and escalating as appropriate
- To always maintain the confidentiality of all information processed and printed 
- To ensure Data Centre and company security procedures are adhered to at all times

Is this you? 
 
- Good PC skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Self Motivation,  with the ability to work on your own and as a member of a team
- You are a quick learner
- Must hold a current driving licence for 12 months+
- Full training will be provided
