Looking to start your career but don't know where to look? Or do you enjoy working as part of a team, are you interested in mechanical, electrical processes and procedures and do you like delivery driving? Then we may have the role for you, we are looking for Tool Hire Fitter Drivers to work in our BSS Branches. 

You don't need to come from our sector or even know our products, as long as you have the ability to provide great customer service and an interest or understanding in mechanical and electrical equipment would be advantageous

We will support you with a great onboarding experience and depending on experience, we can also support you on a 12month Tool Hire Apprenticeship scheme which gives you an industry recognised qualification. 

We are BSS, part of the Travis Perkins Group and are looking for future talent to support our growth plans within our Tool Hire business.

Where will I be based?
Initially, at our Leeds branch on City Park Ind Est, but on occasion you may visit other local branches. Leeds has over 20 colleagues, 4 delivery vehicles.  This is a busy branch with a footfall of over 50 Trade customers per day, some of which we know of on a first name basis.  This is a busy and vibrant branch and the Branch Manager has created a fun and professional environment, so you will be in good hands from day one, so don't worry.

Hours - Monday to Friday 7.30am - 5pm (Our customers don’t work weekends and neither do we).

How important is this role to the business
As the Tool Hire Fitter / Driver in BSS, you will play a vital role in supporting our Hire Manager to meet and be compliant to all mechanical, electrical processes and procedures in regards to repairing and testing tools and equipment to the groups Tool Hire standards. You are also the face of BSS Hire whilst delivering to customers.
 
What will I be doing?
In this multi-skilled role you will be tasked with ensuring all tools and hire equipment are tested and safe for use and readily available for hire.
You will support your Hire Manager in managing all aspects of their department and business.
Delivering and collecting a wide variety of tools & equipment to our customers.
With your learned knowledge of the products and services we offer, you will be a pivotal contact for our customers, nurturing great relationships, understanding their needs in order to offer expert advice and recommending alternatives to profitably maximise the sale of goods.
Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, so you will need to adhere and be compliant to all Tool Hire processes and procedures including all Tool Hire audits and inspections.

What experience do you need?
Previous experience within the Hire Industry or a good understanding of electrical, petrol and diesel equipment would be advantageous, but not essential. It doesn't matter what sector you come from, we just need transferable skills - Great Customer Service
A full clean UK driving licence is required.



What are we looking for?
You don’t need any previous experience to be considered for our Hire Apprentices, but for the best chance of securing yourself a place you’ll need to be someone who:

Knows what great customer service looks like 
Is able to build relationships with people at all levels and enjoys working within a team environment
Loves to learn, develop and expand their knowledge and self develop themselves
Holds a full UK driving licence (or be taking your test soon)
