Tool Hire and Sales Administrator

We are BSS, a nationwide distributor of heating, ventilation, pipeline, and mechanical services, we are also part of the well known Travis Perkins Group and this opportunity is based in Exeter.

Our working hours also offer a great work life balance - most of our customers choose to enjoy their weekends and bank holidays which means you can too!  The working hours will be Monday- Friday 7.30am - 5.00pm

How important is this role to the business

As the Tool Hire and Sales Administrator in BSS, you will play a vital role within the Tool Hire Office supporting our valued customers with all of their Tool Hire needs.

What will I be doing?

• You will serve customers both over the Tool Hire counter and over the phone, providing them with quotes, processing orders and carrying out the required administration.

• Within our Tool Hire warehouse, you will be checking in returned tools and box them up ready to be returned to our distribution centre for testing and repair.

• You will support your Tool Hire Manager in managing all aspects of the Tool Hire department.

• With your learned knowledge of the products and services we offer, you will be a pivotal contact for our customers, nurturing great relationships, understanding their needs in order to offer expert advice and recommending alternatives to profitably maximise the sale of goods.

• When the branch is busy, you will support out trade counter to serve customers, complete branch admin and picking customer orders.

• Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, so you will need to adhere and be compliant to all Tool Hire processes and procedures including all Tool Hire audits and inspections.

What are we looking for?

You don’t need any previous experience to be considered for this role, but for the best chance of securing yourself a place you’ll need to be someone who:

• Knows what great customer service looks like – and how to provide it

• Is able to build relationships with people at all levels and enjoys working within a sales environment

• Loves to learn, develop and expand their knowledge and self develop themselves

• Is willing to travel, and be flexible in terms of location

• Holds a full UK driving licence (or be taking your test soon)
