Do you want to be part of a large transformation programme and work as part of a UX team?


You will be working with the software development team in producing, maintaining, running and supporting high quality working software and solutions that meets the service consumers needs, with a focus of delivering widgets for Homepage


The role we're recruiting for

  • Works as part of a multi-skilled engineering team to ensure that development commitments are met and aligned to expectations, are delivered into run operation and supported and maintained effectively and efficiently.  Ensures the service is delivered in line with quality, design patterns, principles, standards and best practice and meets or exceeds the consumer needs.

  • Implement quality software, providing solutions with highly maintainable code and automated tests

  • Delivers working software frequently and early and support the aims of the User Experience Manager with respect to software quality and design patterns. Support and maintain – software is delivered in to run and supported as needed as part of the wider service offering to assure performance, provision, quality and availability.  

  • Will mentor more junior members of the team, helping build their skills and confidence

  • Working as a Subject Matter Expert during the Software Development Lifecycle

  • User story/User Experience driven development – work face-to-face with business facing colleagues, and the UX team, to elicit the requirements, and delivers custom CSS to match the designs and prototypes provided by the UX designers.  Ensure that stories have acceptance criteria and are able to deliver value at the earliest possible opportunity. Continuous improvement - Act on the scrum metrics and retrospective feedback to maintain and continuously improve the performance of the team.

  • Ensuring that communication to stakeholders is clear

It would be great if you had...

  • Previous experience of software development 
  • Experience in Front End development such as HTML and CSS
  • At least 2 years experience in Object Oriented Programming / Design (OOP/OOD)
  • Experience in C# Development

Beneficial but not essential:
  • Experience using Mongoose framework
  • Experience working in a continuous integration/delivery environment
  • Experience working within a large company and team, preferably in the retail or merchant sector
