Management Apprenticeship
Joining our friendly and hard working family as a Management Apprentice, you'll be on the front line dealing with our customers that come into our shop. As part of the branch team, you will play a vital role in our continued success, providing a first class service.
What will I be doing?
This is a 30 hour flex up contract. This means that you are guaranteed 30 hours every week even in winter times! Our working hours are Monday to Friday 7:30am - 5pm and Saturdays 8am - 12pm. You could be expected to work 30 hours between these hours.
Not one day is the same as the next in TP branch life, but here are a few pointers:
This role is to step into learning how to become management material and eventually progress into that job role at our Crewe branch. This is a medium sized branch with 13 team members. A fully fledged tool hire operation and 2 hgv vehicles and 1 van. Stepping into this role is the correct move for anyone looking to work towards a management position in their career while still completing an apprenticeship programme and earning money!
Taking the leap into this role is perfect for anyone currently looking to move into a branch supervisor or assistant branch manager role. We will give you training throughout the different areas of the branch such as the counter, yard, tool hire and benchmarx to give you the opportunity to delve into this to enhance your development and exposure to succeed within a management role.
Our success is built on strong relationships with our customers so it’s essential that you can help deliver the highest standards of service - the key thing is to be helpful and friendly at all times, you will likely get to know our customers on a first name basis.
You will be based inside, processing our customer orders, answering the phone, keeping stock and facing up shelves.
You will also be dealing with supplier deliveries and accurately book them in the branch.
Full training is provided to use our systems and a coach will be assigned to help you on your development programme for the first 12 months.
Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, your aim will be to ensure that our standards never slip, this means maintaining a tidy and safe working environment.
We are looking for someone who wants to progress and learn the sales and operations side of the business.
Training on offer:
As part of your role you will enrol onto a 12 month programme, you will gain a Level 3 First Line Manager qualification. All of your learning is “on the job”, Travis Perkins values a work-life balance and there is no need for you to complete any of your work “out of hours”. The training consists of a number of modules and you will have a dedicated coach that will guide you throughout, as well as being supported by your line manager (and in my case a really supportive team who I consider to be my friends!)
Just remember you are never too old to start a Development Programme!
Once your development programme is completed you will remain a valued member of the team.
Not only will you gain a qualification off the back of this programme, but Travis Perkins have a tonne of benefits too:
22 days annual leave, pension, bonus and staff discount (Including 20% off at Toolstation!)
Discounts at various retailers including Currys, Tesco, Boots, John Lewis + many more!
Travis Perkins is part of the Travis Perkins plc group. Our group has a number of different businesses under its umbrella meaning plenty of opportunity for internal movement and progression, it’s strongly encouraged here.
Sociable working hours
Great health and wellbeing benefits including virtual GP appointments
I hope that you’re as excited about this role as I am, and that my first hand experience has provided a small insight into what we do here. Apply today, you won’t regret it!
We’re driving to become a truly inclusive employer. We want everyone to be at their best and it’s our ambition that everyone within our Group feels safe, welcome and confident to be their authentic selves.
*Applications currently open to candidates aged 18+
