The Role
Working as part of our Travis Perkins Commercial team, the Head of Marketing is a key role which is responsible for leading the brand development and key marketing activities both online and in branch. You will be the focal point when it comes to coordination, development and agreement of all promotional and communication activity across all channels as well as leading the execution of campaigns directly through external agencies and outsourcing.
One of the main focuses of the role is to provide vision and leadership to the marketing team as we redefine our strategy and the role of customer communication as part of our business transformation, modernising our approach and engagement with the customer and the market.
The role will encompass all activities to drive incremental sales, increase customer numbers and engagement across the Travis Perkins brand.
Working closely with commercial, sales, operations and finance, you will be an integral member of the commercial leadership team and help ensure the business maintains an appropriately external perspective at all times.
Principle accountabilities:
Lead the Travis Perkins brand position and communication strategy to acquire new customers, increase share of wallet with existing customers and optimise key strategic segments.
Deliver profitable improvements to the operating / commercial models informed through customer insight, wider market knowledge and developments in key areas of the business engaging and aligning where appropriate internal stakeholders - commercial, sales, business development, operations, finance
Development and delivery of the Travis Perkins marketing plan with activities through direct mail, email, PR, brochures, POS, Social media and website ensuring the marketing plan is aligned to business goals. Develop industry positioning through engagement with trade bodies and organisations.
Partner with the commercial, online and operations teams to ensure the execution of activity across all channels with the greatest possible revenue impact. Develop approaches to drive growth both online and in branches.
Deliver communication tools and campaigns to agreed timescales and budgets working with internal colleagues and external agencies. Manage all external agencies for print, design and direct mail marketing work. Deliver through a variety of marketing channels including, social, email, media and direct.
Champion the commercial benefits of marketing internally and demonstrate return on investment of all initiatives, continuing to develop and refine the brand strategy, company values and communication approach.
What we are looking for
Significant marketing experience focused on brand marketing is essential for this role. You will be passionate about developing a brand with a digital, direct marketing & CRM approach also utilising your experience in agency management. This is a broad role within a multi profit centre model, which requires a localised approach with a customer and business focus.
As a strategic and creative thinker you will be comfortable challenging the ‘status quo’ with a proven track record in delivering exceptional results.
Experience of working within an organisation of similar size and scope would be an advantage, as the role requires exceptional communication and influencing skills engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, internally, across the group and externally too.
A collaborative and engaging leader you will be highly motivated, innovative, tenacious and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
