Fleet Engineer

Travis Perkins plc are seeking a Fleet Engineer to support our Group Nationally.
This role works as the group's ‘Centre of Expertise’ for our operational & technical knowledge which gives us oversight and a third line of defence for the management of the groups O-licences.
Some of the key responsibilities for this role are:
Carry out regular audits of all compliance documentation received from our maintenance providers via our Fleet Management.
Review in detail all maintenance tasks to ensure that all defects are picked up within a timely manner.
Review and examine driver defect reports to ensure compliance - take action with any electronic vehicle checks that are not completed correctly.
Carry out targeted monthly maintenance provider audits alongside our fleet management provider to ensure correct processes and compliance are met at all times.
Carry out all MOT failure and pass rectified at station (PRS) investigations once the initial investigation has been carried out.
Assist the National Fleet Engineer and the relevant business unit fleet teams with major component failure where any commercial vehicle and/or ancillary equipment has been affected.
Act as an initial escalation point to all business unit fleet teams
To be considered for this role, you'll need:
Hold a Level 3 apprenticeship in Heavy Goods Vehicle maintenance or previous Fleet Engineering experience.
Repairs & Maintenance experience in commercial vehicles/plant and equipment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Some understanding of O-License compliance requirements (training will be given).
Understanding of LOLER and how this applies to the businesses mixed fleet.
A great problem solver.
It would be AMAZING if you had (but not a necessity):
HGV Licence class 1
Lead Auditor status
Operational Management experience
Understanding of HGV and LCV build process
Commercial Knowledge
Lifting equipment experience
