Keyline Civils Specialist is the UK's largest supplier of specialist civils and drainage products and solutions. With a nationwide-network of 44 branches covering the UK, stocking a huge range of materials for all of your building projects.
The Role
The Commercial Director holds the primary relationships with suppliers, building long term beneficial partnerships to grow the Keyline, suppliers and customers businesses. Builds trusted and credible relationships with suppliers, acting as strategic partners to define the product and service proposition that adds value to our customers through our branch network. Builds strong technical expertise in the commercial team, with the expertise to translate strategy, develop the customer proposition and build, plan and manager category performance.
Principle Accountabilities:
Works with the MD and leadership team to trade the business in the near term and develop and execute the business strategy in the mid to long term.
Builds and develops the commercial strategy and teams ways of working to leverage the customer, supplier and branch opportunities, through close relationships and ways of working with these three groups.
Ensures suppliers are critical partners to business growth in the long term, identifying where the suppliers business and strategies align, identifying profitable opportunities for growth.
Define the problems that we are solving for our customers and builds value into the solution - defining the end to end customer proposition, from category strategy to selling through the branch network.
Builds trusted and credible relationships with suppliers, engaging and influencing to be the first choice for additional allocation or bringing new product to market over our competitors
Works with Regional Directors and Branches to ensure safe and easy supply of product when the customer needs it, optimising availability, branch productivity and reducing cost to serve.
Optimises the sell through of the product proposition through clear communication and building product knowledge internally, whilst communicating effectively with Customers and Suppliers.
What are we looking for?
A commercial leader motivated by achieving results by developing a strong business through the focus on customer, supplier and colleague engagement. You will be an exceptional relationship builder across all of the stakeholder groups. You will also be charismatic, highly motivated, innovative, tenacious and able to work in a fast paced environment.
Previous experience in end to end category management in a contract environment would be beneficial but not essential, whereas a proven track record of winning through the strength of your relationships coupled with strong commercial acumen and analytical ability is essential.
