Yard Customer Assistant - 16 hours per week minimum

We are Travis Perkins, the UKs largest builders merchant and this YARD ASSISTANT role may be perfect for you.
The Branch
You will be working alongside some great individuals at our branch on Westmoreland Avenue inThurmaston . We have a team of 14 colleagues, we run 2 x 26T, and have a Benchmarx kitchen team - ours is a busy branch! Your working hours will be between Monday to Friday 07.30-17.00 and alternate Saturdays 08.00-1200 all to be negotiated.
You don’t need an in-depth knowledge of builders merchants to join the team, as there will be plenty of coaching and training to get you up to speed, we’ll give you the confidence to deliver the exceptional service we expect.

The Role
Our success is built on strong relationships with our customers so it’s essential that you can help deliver the highest standards of service - the key thing is to be helpful and friendly, you will likely get to know our customers on a first name basis. You will be based outside, processing customer orders and loading/unloading customer and company vehicles. In addition you will also unload our building products from supplier deliveries and accurately book them in the branch warehouse, always ensuring we have sufficient turn around times for our vehicles and suppliers. Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, your aim will be to ensure that our standards never slip, by adhering to all stay safe policies and procedures, this means maintaining a tidy and safe working environment.
The Person
This is a key customer facing role, you just need the ability to provide great customer service, we can teach you the rest. Are you:
* Highly adaptable, resilient and tenacious with high levels of energy and drive
* Someone that is physically active, as this role is located outside, it will involve lifting heavy building materials
* Someone who thrives in a dynamic and fast paced environment and able to use modern technology.
* Friendly and outgoing, happy to communicate face to face to build strong lasting relationships
* Experience of using a forklift is ideal, but don’t worry full training is provided
