Warehouse Assistant / Driver

BSS Industrial - we are a top distributor of heating, pipeline, process and mechanical services equipment to the Building Services and Industrial sectors. Established over 110 years ago, we became a part of the Travis Perkins Group in 2010 and now have more than 60 BSS branches, along with a National Distribution Centre at Lutterworth in the East Midlands and a National Tube Distribution Centre in Coventry. We have a wealth of experience in our people - technical support, customer care, product engineering and design.

You don't need to come from our sector or even know our products, as we will provide you with a great on-boarding and induction. 

What will I be doing?

• Play an integral part in branch operations specifically in a warehouse team in a busy specialist operation, ensuring that adequate provision is made for customer deliveries, that branch layout is right and standards for safety, storage efficiency, housekeeping, and ability of customers to find products they might want to buy

• Load company vehicles in organised and efficient manner to ensure no stock damage and to minimise delivery time. Ensures the manifest correlates exactly with the parcels prior to loading the vehicle including cross dock orders

• Ensure safe and correct delivery of an order to customers' premises and visually checks the stock is in good condition before obtaining a proof of delivery signature

• Assist in preparing orders for delivery including picking, checking and packing

• Assist in all aspects of production within the warehouse as delegated by the management team

• Ensure safe and correct return of stock by visually checking and signing for all customer returns

• Complete daily/weekly paperwork including declaration. Assists in maintaining a safe and clean working environment

• Adhere to all site Health & Safety requirements

• Ensure correct manual handling techniques are used at all times 

• Able to plan and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines
