Technical Manager North - CCF 

This role is fully hybrid/remote and will require regular travel to sites around the North and Midlands

What will you do? 

As part of the close knit CCF technical team, you will be passionate about helping both customers and colleagues alike with their technical enquiries and helping to get the right insulation, fire protection, drywall and/or ceilings products for every project.  You’ll thrive equally collaborating with CCFs sales colleagues, in detailed technical discussions with fellow team members and suppliers and, in front of customers.

Some accountabilities of the role: 

• Provide high quality and timely technical and specification support to customers in order to drive customer loyalty.

• Develop strategic technical relationships with key customers and suppliers in order to drive value for the customer and sales and margin for CCF.

• Support CCFs North region sales teams and branches with technical customer enquiries to drive increased sales values and conversion rates.  Use your commercial awareness to ensure best value solutions are generated for customers taking into account their individual needs.

• Develop and maintain a strong network of supplier and industry technical contacts to support the activity of the technical team.  

• Use your network and knowledge to identify market trends and help to ensure CCF remains market leading in their product and service offering. 

• Maintain up to date knowledge of critical regulatory and industry developments and monitor technical trends in order to support business planning. 

• Support the development and delivery of technical training as required to develop the capability of colleagues and further enhance CCF’s market position..

• Ensure up to date records of technical support and advice, project status and customer contacts and engagement are kept through the utilisation of CCF CRM and recording systems.  

What you’ll need to have:

• Detailed knowledge of the construction industry - especially insulation products and systems, building regulations and construction methods. 

• Ability to run U-value and condensation risk calculations 

• Ability to communicate complex technical subjects clearly, both verbally and in writing, to different knowledge levels.

• Ability to read and interpret construction layout drawings.

• High level of attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Experience developing and maintaining mutually beneficial and long lasting customer relationships.

• IT literate.

• Confident, diplomatic, honest, integrity.  

• A strong time management and customer service ethos. 

• A wide network of industry relationships.

• Higher education, A levels & O levels/GCSEs in core subjects (Maths, English, Business studies)
