Hire Operations Manager

Travis Perkins are looking to recruit a truly influential Hire Operations Manager who can demonstrate vision and the ability to lead from the front, drive ambitious growth through proven people and strategic management skills, whilst also focusing on safety and our customers.
As a Hire Operations Manager you will be joining our South East region and you will support the Head of Hire and work in partnership with our Branch Managers to achieve outstanding results across the branch network and the region. You will be covering Kent, Sussex and Hampshire, so we are ideally looking for someone who lives within that area.
This will involve the effective and efficient management of our equipment, right through to nurturing and developing great customer relationships and coaching colleagues on how to deliver excellent customer service. Your goal is to be the first choice Hire partners for the best builders in town.

What will you be doing?
You will be responsible for establishing best practice and championing change whilst at the same time supporting Branch Managers to achieve outstanding results. Indirect responsibility for the performance and development of the Hire Teams within specified sub-regions
The Hire Operations Manager role is focused on ensuring operational excellence and optimisation achieved across a network of branches in respect of stock/product; identifying improvement opportunities, developing capability, leading change and driving a high performance.
Deliver commercial results across a network of branches
Create sales and customer account plans to deliver revenue and continually improve margin and customer penetration.
Owns and drives commercial and operational improvement plans, tackling where required any underperformance.
Maintains focus on delivering and adapts and evolves plans, applying innovative and creative approaches to addressing challenges and to delivering in alignment with our customer and business needs.
Continually evaluate a range of data, MI and KPIs, checking assumptions, opportunities and risks, without losing clarity. Uses this to drive activity and improve commercial, operational and people outcomes.
Develop a clear picture of the customer profile, competitive landscape and supplier proposition in order to foster solid relationships with critical partners.
Work collaboratively with branch and regional and national sales teams to form a strong Hire proposition and improve understanding internally and externally
What are we looking for?
Ability to successfully and consistently achieve across a range of KPIs including financial, service, people and operations
An engaging and inspirational leader with excellent communication, planning and organisational skills
A proven track record of having delivered improvement in a business environment and experience of having lead, coached and developed teams through remote leadership.
You will be highly motivated, innovative, tenacious and be able to work in a fast paced environment.
With a high level of supplier, competitor and market commercial understanding, you will be able to drive business growth, through operational excellence and world class customer relationship building, to make a real difference to the bottom line.
