Branch Sales Assistant

Travis Perkins is the UK's largest supplier of building materials to the building and construction industry, supplying thousands of products and materials, and a hire service, to trade professionals and self-builders across the nation. Are you ready to join a friendly, hardworking team? We’re looking for a Branch Sales Assistant to join us at our branch in Greens Industrial Estate, Wakefield. You’ll work 30 hours per week, over 5 days, with 1 Saturday in every 4 weeks (8 am to 12 pm). 

What will I be doing?

As a Branch Sales Assistant, you’ll be on the front line, welcoming and supporting our customers while playing a key role in our branch’s success. Your dedication to providing excellent service and maintaining a safe environment will make a real difference.

You’ll be joining a team of 7 colleagues running a busy counter service, sales desk, and managed service operation. No two days are the same in our branch life, but here’s a glimpse of what you can expect:

You’ll provide outstanding service with a friendly and helpful attitude, often getting to know customers by name.

You’ll handle customer requests, offer advice on products, prepare quotes, and guide customers through their purchases, taking our sales performance to the next level.

You’ll ensure products are moved safely and correctly around the branch, contributing to smooth operations.

Safety is at the heart of everything we do. You’ll follow all policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for customers and colleagues alike.

What experience do you need?

This is a key customer facing role, you just need the ability to provide great customer service and be confident in a sales environment...We can teach you about our products!

Does this sound like you?

You will be a confident communicator, able to build rapport with all customers and an ability to sell! You will handle sales calls via phone and email, you will support the counter sales in the branch serving face to face but also support the internal sales team with quotes, invoices and queries.
