Assistant Sales Office Manager - National Contractors
Develop and maintain profitable Sales from within the National Contractor target sector, ensuring that the National Sales Office provides a single source of contact to service the requirements of the National Account customer base. Negotiate and service national / regional trading arrangements for the supply of building materials to all customers associated with the National Sales Office.
This role is based out of our Harvey Reeves Road, Northampton offices
Principal Accountabilities
Achieve monthly and annual sales and profit targets set at the beginning of each financial year for the national sales office. Ensure the national sales office operates within the agreed plan and set company criteria for all key financial areas.
In conjunction with the national account management team produce and service contract quotations from individual orders through to national supply agreements.
Ensure the team actions and completes all enquiries in a timely manner
Build your own portfolio of customers making sure regular contact is maintained internally and externally.
Working directly with our preferred suppliers / manufacturers and our internal procurement teams become fully conversant with our companies net trading arrangements, ensuring products from these suppliers are reflected in our customer orders and agreements.
Lead and develop colleagues to achieve success for the team and to achieve their career ambitions within the group
In conjunction with your team and colleagues pro-actively target new business opportunities from the national account customer base, introducing new and innovative products and trading solutions.
Have full liaison and open lines of communication with our network of trading branches and sales offices to ensure continued sales development and aid with the suitable resolution of queries.
Initiate, review and manage KPI information relating to the national sales office operation and customer driven initiatives and measures
Ensure efficient management of special projects controlled by the national sales office. Coordinate and utilise all relevant internal areas of our business and the associated supply chain to meet the customer’s needs
Communicate and oversee any national supply agreements that do not get serviced entirely by the national sales office through to our network of regional sales offices.
What you’ll need to have:
Educated to GCSE level standard (or equivalent.)
Operated in a sales based role
Operated in a management role
Proven track record in sales
Excellent communication skills
Customer focused
High level of interpersonal skills
Articulate and organised
Commercially aware
Excellent customer service skills
Strategic negotiator
Ability to interpret financial/ statistical information
Market and supplier knowledge
Presentation skills
