We have an exciting opportunity to join our HR Team based in Central functions.
This role is open for a 𝐇𝐑 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫 supporting the GLT member for Technology & Data and Directors for Commercial, Health & Safety and Fleet.
Reporting to the HR Director, you will support the design and implementation of the people's agenda creating a culture of high performance which provides exceptional services and support to our branch and store colleagues, managers and leaders.
Hybrid working pattern - once a week at our Head Office in Northamtpon
Role Purpose
To work proactively and in partnership with the GLT and functional leaders in the Central functions, to support the identification, design and delivery of robust and value add people plans, that may include the following:
Organisation Effectiveness and change, including cultural change and impact
Colleague Engagement and Communication
Leadership Development and associated interventions
People Development, including Performance Development Cycle
People capability, Succession & Talent development
Annual HR Cycle, Reward, Pay Review and Bonus
Resourcing
Principal Accountabilities
Business Partnering
Apply HR expertise and commercial understanding to partner the Central functions leadership teams. Interpret the Functional areas’ plans, diagnose the people implications and translate that into a clear people plan
Coach and support business leaders on employee engagement and motivation
Drive the talent plan for the business to build sustainable people capability
Support the business leadership to build a performance culture, aligned to the Group Values
Partner with HR specialist colleagues to deliver a seamless HR service
Provide advice and guidance to leaders on the effective management of change and lead the associated HR actions and plans
Provide leadership on internal and external resourcing to attract and retain talent in the right place with the right skills, including direct involvement in senior and critical hires as required
Resourcing
Work with hiring managers to understand and respond to their people needs, managing headcount and budget to ensure numbers remain within the Annual Operating Plan
Partner with the Resourcing team during the recruitment process where relevant
Advise on compensation and undertake interviews as required for senior level hires
Reward
Support the functional leadership teams through the management of compensation reviews and prepare proposals for salary adjustments and bonuses for review at a Group level
Use internal and external compensation data to analyse proposals and ensure consistency of application across the business
Performance Management
Work with the teams to manage the performance management process including objective setting, development planning and calibration
Employee Relations
Work in partnership with the Group ER team and managers to assess legal risks of employee relations issues and advise management as required
Learning and Development
Work in partnership with the current Apprenticeship team to ensure that appropriate training is delivered to accelerate capability development and improve performance
Ensure robust successions plans are in place and identify talent and retention risks
Employee Engagement
Support the central functions in driving employee engagement through the facilitation of action / focus groups as required and the interpretation of annual survey results
Is this you?
Essential
Good level of business and industry acumen
Appreciation of key financial metrics
Ability to analyse data to produce business insight
Established HR-related experience i.e. generalist HR role
Proven track record of being an effective relationship builder with strong influencing skills, across a range of diverse stakeholders
Confident and clear communicator (both written and oral) and ability to influence challenging stakeholders
Strong team player, works collaboratively to deliver results
Sound judgement, able to read situations and apply discretion and clear thought to resolve them
Experience of partnering client populations in a customer focused environment .
