When applying for a job in, say customer service, you might see that previous experience in customer service is needed. But how do you get the experience without having the experience? An apprenticeship.
Apprenticeships aren’t just for school leavers and our Level 2 Apprenticeships are entry level, meaning that you don’t need any specific qualifications or experience. Over the course of a year, our programmes will help you build the necessary skills, knowledge and behaviours to be the best you can be. Our “Earn as you Learn” Apprenticeship Programmes will show you how to be a great colleague within a branch or store, pulling together product knowledge with a strong understanding of our customer base.

Benchmarx - Certificate in customer service
As with all our programmes, this Apprenticeship in Customer Service at Benchmarx is focused on both developing your skills and you as a person. It will teach you about business awareness, customer management and business innovation.
BSS - Service and know how
Complete an Apprenticeship as a Trade Supplier with BSS and you’ll learn about the different business areas and what makes our team experts. Throughout the year, you’ll build your knowledge of systems and technology and develop your service skills to improve sales. Megan, for example, has learned lots of new skills on the Fast Track Management Apprenticeship, from developing product knowledge, to delivering customer service and liaising with her colleagues. Additionally, Hannah, finds that she is now able to talk confidently about the suite of products available and how they benefit our customers.
CCF – Pursuit of better certificate
Knowing the products, their benefits to the customer and their end-to-end supply chain are all key lessons in an Apprenticeship as a Trade Supplier at CCF. Keyline – Trusted civils expert
In-depth product knowledge and understanding of our customer needs are key in the Travis Perkins Group. An Apprenticeship as a Trade Supplier at Keyline will show you how to work alongside our customers to understand product applications and installation. Our inclusive teams will always ensure you have the support you need to progress.
Travis Perkins – Certificate in merchanting
An Apprenticeship in Trade Supply at Travis Perkins is flexible to enable colleagues to approach it in a way that suits their role. You’ll learn about winning service in the yard and winning service on the counter and develop your knowledge of our different product offers, such as Tool Hire. Once you've completed your Apprenticeship, we also offer part-time opportunities at Travis Perkins, which Charlotte has found useful whilst balancing her job with her studies.
Why choose an entry level apprenticeship with the Travis Perkins Group?
Apprenticeships at the Group are delivered by our in house Apprenticeship team. Each programme is tailored to the business and designed to give you experience working in the different areas of the branch or store, whether that be in the yard, at the sales counter or in the warehouse. Our Apprenticeship team will make sure you have a dedicated programme coach who you’ll have regular contact with and who will assess your work, provide feedback and support your learning and understanding through the delivery of webinars and bite-size activities.
Once you’ve completed all your workshops and online activities, you’ll have an end-point assessment which involves an online knowledge test, and an observation of you in your job role. This is a great chance to reflect on the year and see how much you have developed. Graduating from your Level 2 Apprenticeship will open so many doors for you. Or if you have your sights set on more qualifications, with the Group you can complete more programmes up to a Level 7 Apprenticeship, which is equivalent to a Master’s degree.
