Apprenticeship Coach

Travis Perkins is looking for an Apprentice Coach to join their award-winning apprenticeship delivery team. This role will play a vital part in supporting our apprentices to achieve their qualification by providing 1-2-1 and group tutoring sessions. 

Location: home-based, with travel for meetings and training events

We deliver our apprenticeship programmes virtually, holding training and coaching sessions using video conferencing technology. As such, this will be a home-based role most of the time and we are flexible on the location of the successful applicant. 

Key Accountabilities:

In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that all our apprentices experience a positive learning environment that’s structured, progressive and centred around them. Reporting to our Apprenticeship Manager, you will;

• Provide feedback and coaching in a live environment with colleagues and managers at all levels of the organisation. 

• Support and mentor candidates who are completing development programmes

• Lead high-energy online and face-to-face training 

• Present learning points succinctly and clearly, and then assess understanding. 

• Be confident in challenging and providing feedback in ‘live’ group environments

• Undertake assessments of identified learners to understand their additional needs, planning and executing appropriate tutoring resources that will allow them to pass their Functional Skills exams.

• Establishing and building effective partnerships with the wider apprenticeship team to ensure learners receive the correct levels of support.

• Effectively tracking and monitoring learner progress.

• Build relationships with managers across the business to provide them with support and guidance on how to develop apprentices.

• Have excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

• Excel at communicating with individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds.

• Have a positive attitude and enjoy finding solutions to problems.
